Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American model and a singer. Also, she was a co-star in Prince's 1984 movie Purple Rain. Her most well-known role was co-starring in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain and for having been the main singer for the group of girls Apollonia 6. Apollonia was christened as a female singer and actress by Prince. The 1980s were a time of change for her, she became one among numerous artists who benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero is a Californian actress who was born in the city of Santa Monica in 1959. Her early career included being a model on television. In 1984 she landed the female lead in Prince's Purple Rain (during which time the singer switched her names) and was replaced by Vanity in the female duo Vanity 6 performing with them in the film under the name Apollonia 6. Sex Shooter was a minor success for the trio, but she had a bigger impact as Prince's duet partner with Take Me with You on the soundtrack. When the two had a falling out about the direction of her career Apollonia six broke up and Kotero quit her relationship with Prince. She appeared in several minor movies during this period however, she was not able to take part on the set of the Purple Rain sequel Under the Cherry Moon. In 1985-1986 she got a role in the show called Falcon Crest. Apollonia was her first public appearance in 1988. The album, R&B/Dance that was pretty pedestrian and failed to impress people who were buying music at that time, quickly vanished. Throughout the decade that followed the singer-songwriter remained an active actress, playing minor roles in films as well as small television shows. Apollonia's album Stay With Me came out in 1997. After returning to school, she where she received her diploma in making films. She then formed her business and was employed on children's television. Apollonia holds a number of jobs.
