Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American actress and singer. She was born and raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier) who is an RN, and Tom Bell, a television news director. She was born in Huntington Woods, Michigan, to a Polish mother and father who is German, English Irish, Scottish and Irish. Kristen discovered her talents in entertainment as a young age. She was cast in the role of Raggedy Ann in 1992 after attending her first audition. Bell's mother signed her up with an agency just before turning 13 years old. She then appeared in television advertisements as well as newspaper ads. Then she began taking training in private acting. Bell had a role that was not credited on Polish Wedding (1998), an upcoming film. Bell was a part of the drama and musical groups at Shrine Catholic High School. Bell was cast as Dorothy in the high-school production that was The Wizard of Oz. After graduating, Bell made the move into New York City to attend the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts and studied musical theater. Bell completed her studies in 2001, left her studies at the university to play the role Becky as Becky in Tom Sawyer. She made her first film credit with Pootie Tang in 2001. However, her scene, was trimmed and now her appearance only appears in the credits at the end. Bell appeared on Broadway on Broadway in The Crucible, a revival with Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
